Top ten best teams for the 2021 NHL season (part 3)
Colorado Avalanche
Joe Sakic is building a super team in Colorado in a slow way. Loaded everywhere, this team doesn’t have any cap concerns. The additions of Brandon Saad and Devon Toews make the team even more dangerous since they will play on a team with players like Mikko Rantanen, Cale Makar, Ryan Graves, Gabriel Landeskog, Name Kadri, Andre Burakovsky, and Nathan MacKinnon. There is a question remaining is whether Pavel Francouz and Phillip Grubauer can stay healthy, or whether goaltender can lead their squad to the Cup. With all of these things, the Colorado Avalanche has enough ability to be the best team in the West in the upcoming season.
Dallas Stars
The Dallas Stars may not be among the best regular season team in the league, but they are dangerous during playoff time. They have the defense and goaltending which are some of the best in the NHL. However, their offense is quite iffy. Although it surged in the playoffs, that can’t be hoped throughout a whole season since the team lacks offensive skill on their roster. The good news for their offense is that young players like Joel Kiviranta, Denis Gurianov, and Rope Hintz will develop over time, so they will gradually become a higher scoring team. It is not a coincidence since they were the closest team to beating the Blues last year and made the 2020 Stanley Cup Final.
Tampa Bay Lightning
Tampa Bay Lightning is the defending champs of the league and they are nearly a perfect NHL team. While they will have to deal with the salary cap this winter and may have to move some players, the Lightning no longer has the choker label attached to them and got stacked in every position. Andrei Vasilevskiy is one of the NHL’s best goaltenders, and their defense is led by the league’s best defenseman Victor Hedman. It is hard to defend a title, but it is also hard to argue that the Lightning aren’t the best team in hockey now.
