Seguin needs to end its slump for Stars in Final Cup with Lightning (Part 2)

Seguin had a number of good scoring opportunities thanks to its strong play in its first two matches, including a chance in Game 1 after a rebound that Lightning goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevskiy returned to save with his stick.

But Seguin was barely visible at equal strength, hitting a 5v on 5 goal in its first two games.

Bowness said he is looking into tuning the top line to try to produce more but it doesn’t look like he wants to make any drastic changes in his two Cup Finals games.

“We’ll have to see,” said Bowness. “However, they brought us here. Everyone on that team in that room helped us get here, so we always consider that. We won Game 1. We were already very good. thrilled with Game 1 in 40 minutes We all know what happened in the third period there. It’s just self-inflicted, all of those problems. We’ll try and fix. for those problems, so don’t overreact.

“Only Game 3 is coming up. Is modifications possible? Absolutely. Every match is possible, so we’ll see how it will be tomorrow.”

Any potential roster change on Wednesday will have to impact the state of striker Blake Comeau, who left in the second phase of the Second Half after being hit hard by Tampa defender Ryan McDonagh Fly. Bowness said Comeau was evaluated on Tuesday and it is not known if he is free.

The stars have come this far with the help of scoring from the bottom six strikers and their defense, who have scored 15, including two in Game 1 with Lightning. But teams often need their top players produced to win the championship.

Seguin scored seven points (two goals, five assists) in his first 11 games before his output ran out. Sensing the possible disappointment, Bowness said he spoke with Seguin on Monday morning to encourage him to continue with it.
